Tips for Memorizing Multiplication Table of 19

Here are a few tips to help you memorize the 19 times table:

Tip # 1:

Recall the 18 times table and let it help you memorize the multiplication table of 19. By adding natural numbers 1–10 into the product of the 18 times table, you can obtain the results of the 19 times table. Go through the table given below and learn how to use this tip:

Tip # 2:

The multiplication table of 9 comes with a pattern. Take a closer look at its results’ unit and tens digit places to learn and understand it quickly. The pattern of the first ten multiples of 19 times table has:

  • Odd numbers starting from 1 at its tens place
  • Natural numbers at its unit place in decreasing order

Below we have provided a table for you, have a look.

Similarly, the pattern of the next ten multiples (11 to 20) of 9 times table has:

  • Even numbers at its tens place, starting from 20
  • Natural numbers at its unit place in decreasing order

Go through the table given below to understand the pattern clearly

Tip # 3:

One of the best tips is to memorize a multiplication table by recalling any lesser times table. Use the 9 times table and add natural numbers (multipliers) to the tens’ digit of its product to get a table of 19.

This is how we obtain the multiples of 19 times table using multiplication table of 9:

Example Question of Table of 19

Question: If one book costs 19 cents, using the 19 times table, estimate the cost of 9 books?

Solution:

Given that,
1 book = 19 cents
Using table of 19
9 books = 19 x 9 = 171
Hence, the cost of 9 books is 171 cents.

Question: Write a 19 times table up to 10 and calculate the sum of its first 8 multiples.

Solution:

19 times table up to 10 is:
19 x 1 = 19
19 x 2 = 38
19 x 3 = 57
19 x 4 = 76
19 x 5 = 95
19 x 6 = 114
19 x 7 = 133
19 x 8 = 152
19 x 9 = 171
19 x 10 = 190

Now, calculate the sum of first 8 multiples
Sum = 19 + 38 + 57 + 76 + 95 + 114 +133 +152 = 684

Question: Jim travels 19 miles in a day. How many miles does he cover in a month, 30 days? Find the values using the 19 times table.

Solution:
Given that,
Distance covered in one day = 19 miles
Distance covered in 30 days = 19 x 30 = 570
Therefore, Jim will cover 570 miles in 30 days.

Question: Find the value of 19 times 7 minus 90.

Solution:
Given that,
19 times 7 minus 90
In mathematical form,
= 19 x 7–90
= 133–90
= 43
Hence, the value of 19 times 7 minus 90 is 43.

Question: Evaluate 19 times 6 plus 19 times 4?

Solution:
Given that,
19 times 6 plus 19 times 4
Mathematically, it is written as
= 19 x 6 + 19 x 4
= 114 + 78
= 192
Hence, 19 times 6 plus 19 times 4 is equal to 192.
